This is dragging on a bit, but the end is in sight.
The next step in this adventure was to start putting all the bits I had acquired together and make it look like a gearbox again.
Things went from bad to worse, but what else did I expect?
In an effort to fix the reason for its failure to proceed, it was time to drop the gearbox and pull it to bits.
Well, that didn’t take long.
With the driveshaft all fresh and clean, all I needed to do was crawl under the car and refit it. While under there though, I thought it prudent to replace the last remaining fluids.
Last weekend was a productive one on the TVR, starting with wrapping up the fuel hose replacement job I started earlier.
With the major source of oil leaks under the car sorted, I needed to repair some collateral damage from the previous leaks. The transmission mounts had turned to jello and weren’t doing a lot.
People have asked why I do what I do; buying broken cars and fixing them. It’s because despite all the blood, sweat and swears, it’s fun and nothing beats the satisfaction of that first drive.
